I swear I’m going to kill him, but at least he seemed to approve of Belz… and Zephyr, even if he did spend the whole dinner flirting with him and would gladly take him home. I don’t know why that thought bothers me so much, but here we are. Belz didn’t seem upset earlier when he said I was interested in his friend. He even implied he would be okay with me doing something about that interest. I’m not sure about how their relationship works. Could I really be in a relationship like that? Be with more than one man… demon, at a time?

“What are you thinking so hard about over here?” Belz asks, wrapping his arms around me from behind.

I can’t help but sigh and melt into his big strong arms. I have never felt safer than when I’m in his arms.

“Just thinking about what you said earlier… About Zephyr…” I trail off, not knowing how to voice my thoughts.

“Ahhh. About your feelings for him, Amica Mea?”

I just turn my head and nod, not trusting my voice, or wanting him to see the uncertainty in my eyes. Of course, he doesn’t let me hide from him. Moving his hands to my hips and spinning me to face him, he grabs my chin and lifts my head til our eyes meet, not letting me look away.

“I’m used to sharing Amica Mea. I know you are not, but it’s all I know. I would love nothing more than to have you to myself for all of eternity, but to share you with the only men I trust? That could only intensify our relationship. It will bring us closer together, not push us apart. If you have no interest in any of them, that’s fine, but don’t ever feel like you need to hide your feelings. You want to kiss Zeph? Just to see what it would be like? Do it. You don’t need my permission, but I’ll gladly give it. Only when it comes to Zephyr, Zarreth, and Oz, though. Don’t think I’m going to be okay with you and Chad getting together or something,” he arches a brow and I just shake my head and roll my eyes.

“Did I hear something about kissing Zeph?” The man in question scares the shit out of me by sneaking up behind me.

“God damn it, Zeph! Don’t do that!” I whirl around and smack him. “You gave me a fucking heart attack!”

“Sorry, Angel. Was not my intention.”

Ugh. I can’t stay mad at that damn puppy face. That’s not fair. How am I ever going to be able to tell him no?

“Does he do this a lot? This face? It’s not very demon-like,” I tell Belz.

“All the time. He’s too damn sweet to be a demon. Especially considering his line of work.”

“Oh? What does he do? What do you do?” I turn and ask the demon himself.

“I’m part of the royal security. I’m actually one of the heads, my brother being the other. We have a link to the royal line.
